Sunset Whitney Real Estate

The Sunset Whitney community can be found nestled among many other thriving new neighborhoods of Rocklin (Whitney Ranch, Whitney Oaks, Twin Oaks). Sunset Whitney stands out from the rest with the Rocklin Golf Club (formerly Sunset Whitney Golf Club). Once a private course, it went public in 2011 so as to strengthen its ties and its place in the community.

Perhaps the best enclave for outdoor activities, the area is also home to Johnson-Springview Park. Amenities include lighted baseball and softball fields, soccer field, lighted tennis courts, 18-hole disc golf course, sand volleyball, roller hockey rink, skate park, and a children’s playground. For less-structured play, there’s 90 acres of open space that includes heritage oak trees and Antelope Creek (which wanders through the neighborhood). Rocklin’s dog park is also located on site with sections for small, large, and even special needs dogs. In the summer, families come out for Evenings in the Park every Friday for outdoor movies and in the fall there’s the Placer Grown Harvest Festival.

Two smaller “neighborhood” parks are also nearby – Old Timers Park and Clover Valley, with a large playground and historic granite bridge.

The City of Rocklin offers an array of events and activities for residents of all ages, but one of the most popular is the Kids Junction and Club Rocklin, a before and after-school program operating on all Rocklin Elementary School Campuses. The program is available to children enrolled in kindergarten through sixth grade and includes arts and crafts, sports, games, cooking, and science activities.

Nearly a dozen golf courses and driving ranges can be found within the Rocklin-Roseville-Granite Bay area, but Sunset Whitney’s proximity to the mountains and many recreational areas is what makes it so appealing. Sunset Whitney is just over an hour from Truckee, where endless skiing and hiking excursions await. Between here and there though, lie a trove of rivers, campgrounds, and lakes waiting to be explored.

For less outdoorsy residents, there’s laser tag, mini-golf, batting cages, indoor go-karts, Skyzone, and Bounce U. Roseville is also home to some of the region’s finest shopping. The Westfield Galleria and Fountains Shopping Center house everything from Apple and Tiffany to Sur La Table and Whole Foods. All the larger stores (Macy’s, REI, Costco) are within mere minutes of Roseville’s main shopping area.

Whitney Ranch is not without its own commercial merits and conveniences - fitness centers, coffee shops, and restaurants abound and the Blue Oaks Marketplace is home to a 16-screen theatre, as well as a weekly Saturday farmers’ market from June through November.
